Today was quite possibility the most hectic day at LFW i've ever experienced. It started off it the NewGen Press Launch, where each of this season's crop of talent came to speak about there brands alongside Sir Phillip Green. My favourite NewGen right now has to be Thomas Tait, his pastel shades and creative yet still flattening way of dressing the female body leaves me completely in awe. I cannot wait to see what he does next. Naturally whilst becoming out of the exhibition i couldn't resist buying one of the Topshop's '10 years supporting British Fashion' T-shirt's out of their re-designed Ice Cream Van on the courtyard. I could easily have brought all 20 design's however i opted for Mary Katrantzou print.
My first show of the day was Corrie Nielsen who really set the bar for all the come. I overheard and walked into countless conversations giving her raving reviews, however for me design wise today it was all about Bora Aksu. The unsung hero of London Fashion Week always draws in a huge crowd and never quite gets the recognition he deserves, it was so refreshing to see AW without a coat in sight, in shades of Pink and Grey and lashings of Orange the collection featured heavily appliquéd floral layers to fulfil the needs of the 4 time NewGen applicant's Fans . images source:

The show with the greatest front row was obviously PPQ, who are know for their celebrity packed 'Frow'. Caroline Flack, Jameela Jamil, Pixie Lott and Lydia Print were just a few of the celebs causing the entire east side of Somerset House to be blocked by Paparazzi. Inside the BFC Tent their latest collection showed a much more grown up PPQ than ever before, luckily for us they parred the glamour down by wheeling a bicycle down the catwalk. Image source:

Finally i ended the first day of AW12 at Jena.Theo in the Embankment Galleries Showspace, which is the latest addition to the Somerset House set up before heading home for a rest to do it all again tomorrow. "
